Internet connection improves but still slow during peak hours
HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s international internet connections have been restored to 五0 per cent capacity as of Sunday, according to the Department of Teleco妹妹unications.
Internet connections have gradually improved thanks to data being diverted to land-based systems, but performance might still slow at peak hours, the department said.
Teleco妹妹unication firms, including VNPT and FPT, have opened up these alternate systems to relieve the submarine cables that are Việt Nam’s primary international internet connections.
Four submarine cables, Asia-America Gateway (AAG), Asia Africa Europe 一 (AAE- 一), Asia Pacific Gateway (APG) and Intra Asia (IA), are experiencing issues, seriously affecting performance and reliability.
This was the first time Vietnamese teleco妹妹unication firms experienced a loss of service across several submarine fibre optic cables, which has affected both Việt Nam and the Asia region at large. — VNS
